Are you ready when DISASTER hits?
The Red Cross doesn't wait until disaster strikes. It is prepared to respond to hurricanes,
floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, fire, hazardous materials incidents, and other disasters.
When a disaster strikes, the Red Cross responds immediately. It does not need a government
request to move into action. It works in cooperation with the government and other organizations
to provide assistance.
History points out that the Red Cross is there in good times and especially in bad times. It
is the talents, time and the money of the people in this area that help feed, clothe, and shelter
our neighbors victimized by storms or fires wherever these occur. Red Cross cannot provide all
things to all people; thus, it relies on other agencies and people working together to solve the
many need of the community.
The successful work of the Red Cross is made possible by thousands of volunteers and
the generous financial contributions of the American people.
