Education Opportunities

Technical Advisory Conference Meetings
The Indiana-Ohio Region hosts Technical Advisory Conference (TAC) meetings two to three times a year. These all-day educational events are geared to laboratory staff, nursing staff and pathologists. TAC meetings take place at the American Red Cross Blood Services regional headquarters in Fort Wayne, Ind. Since lunch is provided, we need you to RSVP at least a week in advance of the meeting.

A variety of topics related to blood banking may be discussed, including:
  • blood administration
  • utilization criteria
  • changes in infectious disease criteria
  • methodology updates
  • blood usage strategies
  • advancements in blood components
  • pharmaceutical and other alternatives to blood
  • financial reimbursements
  • process improvements
Regional Advisory Conference Meetings
If an all-day event is not feasible to fit into your schedule, a Regional Advisory Conference (RAC) may be an option. These meetings are smaller, geographically-based and two hours or less in length. RACs are held at a hospital’s request and take place as an interactive discussion. For more information about participating in Teleconferences, TAC meetings, or RAC meetings please contact us.
