The American Red Cross Blood Services, Northern California Region, is a dynamic part of communities helping when our loved ones are seriously ill and in need of blood. Teams of trained professionals and volunteers recruit and draw blood from volunteer donors, test and process the blood and deliver it to hospitals every day. This team works in partnership with businesses, schools, colleges, churches and civic organizations who help recruit healthy donors. Not only do we provide for the patients in need, but also the best doctors operating the most technologically advanced equipment depend on this team of professionals to help save lives.

Trained professionals enjoy satisfying careers in blood banking and are supported by state and national organizations such as The National Red Cross, the California Blood Banking Society (CBBS) and the AABB.  These groups provide members with educational updates and sponsor annual conventions and seminars to provide enrichment for various job functions needed to recruit, process and deliver blood to our community's patients.
