American Red Cross Blood Services fulfills the needs of the American people for blood through voluntary donations.

All blood types are needed. Donating is safe, easy and most healthy people are eligible. You must be at least 17 years old (16 with written parental consent), weigh over 110 pounds and be in general good health.

The American Red Cross Northern California Blood Services Region provides blood for patients in 31 hospitals each day. The region encompasses 6 counties:   Alameda, Contra Costa, Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz.
