Safe Homes Safe Families
Initiative

For
the 3rd consecutive year the
American Red Cross of Greater Columbus and JP Morgan Chase
have joined forces for the Safe Homes Safe Families
initiative, which seeks to increase public awareness of fire
safety in neighborhoods with high rates of residential fires
and significantly reduce fire related incidents in those
areas.

FIRE PREVENTION POSTER CONTEST Click Here
In
coordination with National Fire Prevention Week, the Safe
Homes Safe Families initiative posted billboards across the
city featuring the artwork of five Columbus
Public School
students who designed posters with fire prevention messages.
The winners were chosen from hundreds of entries in the 3rd
annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest. The winner’s
billboards are located in neighborhoods with high rates of
residential fires and will remain up during the entire month
of October.

Each
month a team of volunteers distributes fire safety and
prevention materials to homes in a specified zip code. Last
year these efforts reached more than 46,000 households. Click
on the link above to learn how you, your family and even your
company can help spread this lifesaving message.

Fire
is the most common deadly disaster that Americans may face.
Each year, fire kills more Americans than all natural
disasters combined. Don't let a fire turn your world to
ash.
