A house fire can reduce everything you own to ash;
family videos, photo albums, keepsakes and heirlooms.
Don't
let a fire turn your world to ash. Prepare
your family today using the links above.
Fast Facts
- The American Red Cross of
Greater Columbus responded to 400 disasters last year, the
majority of which were home fires.
- Every two hours someone in
the US loses their life in a home fire, totaling roughly
3,000 people each year.
- Young children are the
most at risk as fire is the leading cause for
unintentional deaths for those under the age of
five.
Tragically, all of this loss,
suffering and even death are caused by disasters that can
often be prevented. As America's partner in preparedness, the
American Red Cross strives to help families prevent and
prepare for fires, our nation's number one disaster.
The American Red Cross has
teamed with the following supporters to launch a multifaceted
Fire Prevention Campaign during the month of October. These
organizations have generously donated resources to
promote fire prevention through billboards, radio, television
and street marketing activities. The American Red Cross would
like to extend a thank you to these supporters for exposing
the greater Columbus community these lifesaving fire prevention
messages.
