Dear ARC,

Thank you for showing and teaching us about blood and we really loved it. The interesting part is when we watched the movie and when we were looking at the blood from up above. The important thing that I learned was when you give blood to the people that need it.

Sincerely, Lausib

Dear ARC,

I wanted to thank you for letting us go and for showing us all the things you do and the most interesting part I liked was looking at the blood. That was cool and I was wondering how come blood is so dark?

Sincerely, Stephen

Dear ARC,

I would like to say thank you for having us for our field trip. I had fun and I learned a couple of new things too. I especially liked the parts when we saw the blood in the refridgerator and how you stored it. I also liked the part when we saw the machines that spin the blood and separate the different parts of blood. Again I would like to say thank you very much for having us for our field trip.

Sincerely, Keith

Dear ARC,

I had a great time there and it was a very cool field trip. When we first got on the highway I thought that we were going to UConn Health Center but we did not. I thought seeing the blood and all the different types was cool. Some day I wish to be a blood donor.

Dear ARC,

Thank you for letting me come and visit you. I enjoyed the tour. I learned why you should give blood, where the blood goes and why its tested. When you give blood, its packaged and it goes to a hospital where someone can have it. I liked the two movies. But it was sad when the two kids got in the car and had to go to the hospital. But they were lucky. They didn’t have to die. The other movie was fun. I learned when your heart pumps, the right side of your heart pumps blood to your cells, and when the left side pumps, it pumps blood to your heart. But I really had fun visiting you. Thank you for taking the time to have me.

Sincerely, Sara

Dear ARC,

Thank you for the tour.

I liked the movie with Bill Nye the Science Guy and when you showed us the blood and what types of blood there is like AB, A, B, and O. Thank you.

Sincerely, Roy

Dear ARC,

It was really nice of you to set a time for us, so we can learn about blood and what is in our body. I especially liked the tour and the T.V. shows. I also liked the different parts of the building. I had a good time at the American Red Cross, but I was nervous seeing blood. However, I still had a good time.

Sincerely, Michele

Dear ARC,

I would like to thank you.

I would like to thank you for taking time out of your schedule to allow us to visit the Red Cross building.

When you showed the movie I liked it. When I grow up I would like to get a job like yours. Also I hope when I grow up I can donate blood.

In conclusion I have listed my reasons about why I like the Red Cross.

I hope when I turn 18, I can give Bone Marrow.

Sincerely, William

Dear ARC,

Thank you for the tour and taking up your time to let us look and learn a lot of things. I learned that you must be seventeen years old to donate blood to the American Red Cross. I also really enjoyed looking at blood because I’ve never seen it so close except my own or somebody elses but not so much. I also did not know that you could save a life with your own blood and I really had fun.

Thanx a lot.

Sincerely, Alex

Dear ARC,

I just wanted to say thank you for letting the sixth grades from Mayberry School visit your place of work. What I liked about the tour was how you showed us the storage and shipping of the blood. I also enjoyed the movie that you had ready for us to watch.

So what I learned about storage was that you always keep the red cells in the refridgerator to stay fresh. Also I learned that if a person looses a lot of blood they have to hurry up and get their type of blood and put it in their body so the person can live.

Also what I learned was that when they are shipping blood to a hospital that you put it in a box with styrophone and dry ice. That also helps the blood keep fresh.

So now you know what I learned from our tour that you gave to the sixth grades. Again why I liked it was because I saw how you stored it and how you ship the blood. I really enjoyed the tour. Thank you again.

Sincerely, Victoria

Dear ARC,

Thank you for having grade 6 come. I really enjoyed myself. I like watching the movie because it was really exciting. Also, when we played the components game. Some jobs that I saw were when they separated the blood in the centrifuge and squeeze the different components into each bag. I think you have a great job.

Sincerely, Latoya

Dear ARC,

I heard how much fun it was but I didn’t go. I know what you did because everyone talked about it. It probably was cool learning more about how to donate blood.

Sincerely, Stephen

Dear ARC,

Thank you for letting us come and take up some of your time. I learned a lot about blood and how it helps people. I liked the movie "Bill Nye the Science Guy". Thank you so much.
