- In fiscal year 2004, the Rock River Chapter of the American Red
Cross programs
and services touched more than 32,969 Rock River Valley residents.
The dedication
of our volunteers and the generosity of our community made the
delivery of our unique sense of caring, compassion and expertise
possible.

The Red Cross responded to disaster situations where we offered assistance to 482
individuals (150 families) as they rebuild their lives
after disaster.
- Red Cross instructors trained over 29,000
people in lifesaving skills, including 4,078 in lifeguarding
and water safety, 11,635 in
CPR, First Aid, and automated external defibrillator, 11,582
individuals
learned lifesaving skills through disaster education and 1,305
people participated in HIV/AIDS education.
- We provided 641 services, including the
transmission of important messages, to 269 military personnel, veterans, and
their
families.

We housed 684 people
providing 16,081 nights
of lodging. .
- Our Case management and placement support
program helped
255 people break the chain of homelessness and regain
the independence to attain permanent housing.

Tissue and blood services in the Ogle County collected 485 units of
blood through the Red Cross Bloodmobiles.

A total of 729 volunteers generously donated over 6,439 hours of
their time and expertise in the pursuit of helping others.
- Rock
River Chapter of the American Red Cross has its vital presence
in Boone,
Winnebago and Ogle counties with services
available
for over 375,000 residents in the area.
