Manager, Manufacturing Laboratory – Hospital Services
Manage and control all daily laboratory operations, including all laboratory staff, budgets, environment and work processes. Assure compliance with safety policies and procedures in the work area and use applicable protective equipment at all times to prevent exposure to potentially infectious blood and body fluids. Responsible for the management of laboratory staff including, but not limited to, hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and disciplining to ensure a well-qualified team and to enhance operational success. Ensure staffing needs are met. Accountable for prudent development and expenditure of total departmental operating budgets; recommends capital expenditures as needed. Operate under general guidelines from senior management. Plan own work and set priorities for department. Actions and decisions based on very broad precedent, discretion and judgment. Supervisory responsibility for multiple staff levels, including supervisors, professional staff and line staff. Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in science, or equivalent experience, with MT (ASCP) certifications or equivalent certifications where required. SBB certification preferred. Minimum five years laboratory experience required including two years supervisory experience. Good communication and computer skills required.

Supervisor, Hospital Services Operations
Supervise assigned operation within Hospital Services department to include managing workflow and staff to ensure customer needs and regulatory requirements are met. PROFESSIONAL

Nurse Specialist
This is an entry level Therapeutic Apheresis nursing position. The primary responsibility of the staff member in this position is to learn the process and begin performing therapeutic apheresis procedures and collections. Patients of all age groups utilize apheresis services. Therapeutic phlebotomies and blood component transfusion procedures may also be assigned. Customer service is an important part of this position's responsibilities. Aptitude for devices is important, as the nurse is required to operate a variety of automated blood processors. Troubleshooting these devices may sometimes be required. Some lifting may be necessary, as well as, carrying supplies to and from case assignments. The nurse is responsible for his/her case assignment(s) including verifying that all necessary documents are complete, including physician order forms, patient consents, and case invoices, and other appropriate documentation. Nurses working in Clinical Services are expected to travel, work irregular hours, and take call. The nurse is expected to travel to facilities within Penn-Jersey's region and extended region areas, take call as scheduled, be on pager, and to respond to pages in a prompt manner. Nursing licenses must be maintained in states where our program provides services. Nurses are expected to understand and keep current with information relevant to our areas of nursing practice, and to review and practice skills. Basic cardiopulmonary life support skills are to be maintained. Additional duties may be assigned.
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed. Must be eligible for licensure in the states of MD, DC, VA, DE and PA are necessary for nurses in our program. Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Desired: Apheresis experience preferred. Previous Blood Services nursing experience preferred. Significant background/experience in medical/surgical nursing preferred.
