The Calhoun County Chapter of the American Red Cross, serving Branch and Calhoun Counties , needs your help in preparing comfort kits to help residents who have experienced the hardship of losing their home due to a disaster such as a fire, tornado, or storm. Comfort kits provide the basic necessities from a toothbrush to a comb, to help take care of the essential and immediate needs to help a victim of a disaster get back on their feet. During the 2008-2009 Fiscal year we responded to and assisted 127 families after a disaster.
The American Red Cross needs travel size shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant and hand sanitizer to include in our comfort kits. Beginning now through November 1, 2009 you may drop off donations at the following donation sites: Felpausch Food Center at 294 Highland Ave, Battle Creek; Zucca’s by Felpausch at 5700 Beckley Road , Battle Creek and at your Red Cross Chapter office, 14600 Beadle Lake Rd , Battle Creek .
