2007 Annual Meeting
The American Red Cross Midland/Gladwin Chapter held their
90th Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 27, 2007. Highlights
include:
The following
individuals were re-elected to a second 3-year term on the Board of Directors of
the Midland/Gladwin Chapter of the American Red Cross:
- Joy Buchanan –
Retired, The Dow Chemical Company & Consultant
- Dana Gibbs – A.G.
Edwards & Sons, Inc.
- Mary Griffore –
MidMichigan Medical Center, Gladwin
- Teresa Sullivan –
Northwood University
The following
individuals were elected to serve their first 3-year term on the Board of
Directors:
- Jill Isola – Memorial
Presbyterian Church
- Dr. Marcia Lee – The
Dow Chemical Company
- John Shaffer –
MidMichigan Medical Center, EMS
- Gary Wamsley –
Midland Daily News

Neighbor Award to McKay Press

The American Red Cross Midland/Gladwin Chapter Good
Neighbor Award is presented annually to an individual or organization that has
provided exemplary support to the Chapter. McKay Press is no exception. Over
the years, McKay Press has been a great friend to the Midland/Gladwin Chapter
through volunteer leadership, in-kind printing services and financial support.
The Chapter appreciates their commitment not only to the Red Cross, but also the
community.
Violette M. Moore Award to Jim Malek
The American Red Cross Midland/Gladwin Chapter’s Violette
M. Moore Award is given annually to an individual that has provided
extraordinary volunteer support to the Chapter. Jim Malek embodies the
principals of this award and the spirit of Violette M. Moore. Since June 2001,
Jim has volunteered approximately (600) hours and been a past member of
the Board of Directors. Jim currently supports the Midland/Gladwin Chapter’s
Talking Newspaper program by providing the critical duplication services.
May Mitchell Royal Foundation Instructor of the Year
Award to Robin Brief

The American Red Cross Midland/Gladwin Chapter May Mitchell
Royal Foundation Instructor of the Year Award is given annually to an individual
that has provided exemplary training of Red Cross curriculum to the community.
This year’s recipient, Robin Brief first became a Red Cross CPR and First Aid
instructor in March 1997. In the last ten years, Robin has volunteered
over (700) hours to provide CPR, AED and First Aid training. In
addition to teaching classes, Robin was also been an enthusiastic volunteer at
community events.
