Become a Volunteer!
| You're needed by the Red Cross. Right now. Too busy? Your
local Red Cross can work with you to provide rewarding volunteer
experiences, whatever your schedule. Think you don't have any skills to
offer? You'd be surprised. And, if you need training, we'll provide it. |
 |
Here's some of the vital work made possible by people like you:
- Every year, the Red Cross is there for hundreds of
thousands of hurricane, flood, earthquake and other disaster victims --
including 150 families forced from their homes by fires every day. Volunteer
to become part of the DAT (Disaster Action Team) with the Midland/Gladwin Chapter.
- Over 15 million Americans turn to us annually to learn
first aid, CPR, swimming, and other health and safety skills. Volunteer to
become an instructor.
Don't wait another day to find out how good it
feels to wear the Red Cross emblem.
- Work in a disaster shelter. Respond to disasters (fires,
floods, tornadoes) and assist individuals with emergency food, clothing and
shelter. This is a good opportunity for people who are team players and like
to help others. No experience is necessary and all training is provided free
of charge.
- Educate the public about Babysitting, First Aid or CPR.
Teach classes in Midland/Gladwin County. Training is provided; there is a
charge for textbooks.
- Plan special events to raise funds.
- Office assistants are needed to input data into
computers, do filing and answer phones.
- Use your skills in a new environment...or do something
different than anything you've ever done before.
