Become A Volunteer

The Red Cross
is able to provide much-needed services to the Midland/Gladwin
area because of our dedicated team of Red Cross volunteers.

You're needed by the Red Cross. Right now. Too busy? Your
local Red Cross can work with you to provide rewarding
volunteer experiences, whatever your schedule. Think you don't
have any skills to offer? You'd be surprised. And, if you need
training, we'll provide it.
Here's some of the vital
work made possible by people like you:
- Every year, the Red Cross is
there for hundreds of thousands of hurricane, flood,
earthquake and other disaster victims -- including 150
families forced from their homes by fires every day.
Volunteer to become part of the DAT (Disaster Action Team)
with the Midland /Gladwin County Chapter.
- Over 15 million Americans turn
to us annually to learn first aid, CPR, swimming, and
other health and safety skills. Volunteer to become an
instructor.
VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITIES
Don't wait another day to find out
how good it feels to wear the Red Cross emblem.
- Work in a disaster shelter.
Respond to disasters (fires, floods, tornadoes) and assist
individuals with emergency food, clothing and shelter.
This is a good opportunity for people who are team players
and like to help others. No experience is necessary and
all training is provided free of charge.
- Educate the public about
Babysitting, First Aid or CPR. Teach classes in
Midland/Gladwin County. Training is provided; there is a
charge for textbooks.
- Plan special events to raise
funds.
- Office assistants are needed
to input data into computers, do filing and answer phones.
- Use your skills in a new
environment...or do something different than anything
you've ever done before.
YOUTH
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Midland/Gladwin County Red
Cross offers young people of all ages the opportunity to
volunteer. Many of the youth projects are determined by the
young people involved. If they see a problem in the community,
the Red Cross and its youth may be able to devise a solution.
Youth have volunteered their time to man first aid stations
during events, put together mini-first aid kits, staff Safety
Town, make Friendship Boxes and much more. The Red Cross not
only provides free training but also sends youth to leadership
development camps and the annual State Conference. If you are
interested in learning more about Youth Services, contact the
Midland/Gladwin Co Chapter.
