some interesting facts about Red Cross volunteers:

More than 1.2
million people volunteer with the Red Cross nationwide.
- The ratio
of Red Cross volunteers to paid staff is 36 to 1.
- One in every
200 Americans is a Red Cross volunteer.
- Youth and
young adults up to age 24 are the fastest growing segment of the
Red Cross volunteer staff and comprise 40 percent of all Red Cross
volunteers.
- Approximately
40,000 nurses continue to be involved in paid and volunteer capacities
at all levels and in all service areas.
Throughout the
Mid-Atlantic Blood Services Region, thousands of volunteers make
miracles happen.

Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers from various walks
