Babysitters Certified at “the Best Birthday Party So Far”
The Mid-south Chapter (Memphis, Tenn.) reports a local news story about an awesome Babysitter's Training class. The birthday girl’s mother, now a physician, had taken the class when she was younger and thought it would provide a meaningful birthday party for her 12-year-old daughter and friends. The mother purchased babysitter backpacks and shirts for the 21 girls. The girls were asked to make a donation to the American Red Cross instead of gifts. For information contact Kathy Cole, Office/Health Assistant, at (607) 753-1182; kathy-cccarc@cnymail.com to do the same thing for your birthday girl right here in Cortland, NY. The Cortland County Chapter offers "Babysitter's Training" on a regular basis. What a special gift!
Campaign for Disaster Relief
Our neighbors all across the country are being affected by disasters this yeara record number of tornadoes, the worst flooding in the Midwest in 15 years, an early wildfire season and an active hurricane season that is not yet over. You can change a life, starting with your own, by supporting the American Red Cross Campaign for Disaster Relief, and helping the Red Cross raise $100 million for the Disaster Relief Fund. Your generous donations to the Disaster Relief Fund, depleted as a result of an active year of disasters, allows the Red Cross to mobilize volunteers who provide food, shelter and counseling to people who need it, whenever and wherever disasters occur.
