Biomedical/Blood Services
What began as a war relief effort to provide life-saving blood for soldiers during World War II has grown by leaps and bounds— The American Red Cross now collects and distributes half the nation's blood supply.

Disaster Services
Each year, the American Red Cross responds immediately to more than 67,000 disasters nationwide, including house or apartment fires (the majority of disaster responses), hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills and other natural and man-made disasters. All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.

Health and Safety
Last year, nearly 12 million people nationally enrolled in American Red Cross health and safety courses. Locally, you can help the Red Cross save lives. Become an instructor or an authorized provider, take a course, or volunteer with the Rome Area Chapter.

International Services
The American Red Cross works with a global network of Red Cross, Red Crescent and equivalent societies to restore hope and dignity to the world's vulnerable people. This international Red Cross movement brings emergency relief to disaster victims, and improves basic living conditions of those in deprived areas of the world.

Service to the Armed Forces
Your Rome Area Chapter is keeping pace with the changing military, allowing those military members stationed all over the world to send messages to loved ones back home during an emergency or other important events. These communications are delivered around-the-clock, 365 days a year.

Youth Services
The American Red Cross Rome Area Chapter is proud to announce a wonderful coalition with the youth of our area.
