CPR & First Aid Classes
The following classes will be held at the Lorain County Chapter, 2929 West River Road, North, Elyria, Ohio. For groups of eight (8) or more, we are available to train your employees at your worksite at a convenient time for you.

***NEW! American Red Cross Two-Year CPR/AED Certification Now Available
Beginning in October, we will be offering CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider re-certification classes on the first Wednesday of the month from 3:00-5:00 PM. Participants must be currently certified in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider to qualify.
Classes will be held: The first Wednesday of each month from 3:00-5:00 PM at the Lorain County Red Cross Chapter.

Statement of Policies
Class Cancellation The Lorain County Chapter reserves the right to cancel any class for any reason, including inclement weather, insufficient enrollment, a natural calamity, etc. If a class is cancelled, you will be contacted and re-scheduled to another class. For this reason, it is important to leave a contact telephone number when enrolling in a class.
Transfers If you are unable to attend the class on the date for which you are registered, we will transfer you to another class (with available space) the first time at no cost. For each additional transfer there will be a $15.00 administration fee.
Refunds In the event that you need to cancel your enrollment prior to a class, a full refund, less a $15.00 administration fee, will be given. There will be no refund if you do not attend the class in which you were enrolled or to which you were transferred.
Please Note...Class participants are encouraged to dress comfortably. Due to the nature of the CPR/AED skills, participants will be engaged in strenuous activities, such as performing CPR on the floor. CPR requirements demand that participants be physically on the floor when checking and administering care to a victim.
COURSE SCHEDULE
Standard First Aid (Adult CPR/AED & First Aid; 6 1/2 hours)
Class participants will learn to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in victims age 9 and older, in addition to identifying and caring for life-threatening bleeding/burns, sudden illness, and injuries. Certification in Adult CPR and First Aid will be issued upon successful completion of class skills and passing the written test. Those Saturday class participants who wish only the First Aid portion of the this class must still attend the entire day to satisfy course requirements. This is OSHA recognized course. Cost: $45.00 (6.5 hours).

Class participants will learn to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in victims aged 12 and older and how to prevent heart disease. Certification is available upon successful completion of all class skills and passing a written test. Cost: $35.00 (4.5 hours)

Infant & Child CPR and Pediatric First Aid (6 Hours Child-care Requirement)
Infant & Child CPR participants will learn to prevent, recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in children and infants until advanced medical help arrives. Participants remaining for the Pediatric First Aid portion of the class will cover topics demanded by the revised Child Care Center requirements (Ohio Rule 5101:2-12-27), including dental emergencies, asthma attacks, and allergic reactions. Pediatric First Aid Certification (6 hours) is available upon successful completion of the CPR & First Aid class skills and passing a written test. Participants must attend both of the Tuesday/Thursday classes. Cost: Infant & Child CPR - $35.00. Infant & Child CPR & First Aid (Pediatric First Aid) - $45.00.

Challenge Courses (Re-certification)
This course is designed for individuals who need to keep their certification current and are presently certified. Participants may be certified in any level of CPR (Adult, Infant, Child, or CPR for the Professional Rescuer) or in First Aid. Participants will be checked on their manikin skills and will take a written test. It is up to the participants to review prior to the course. Pre-registration is required. Cost: $25.00 (2 hours).

Sports Safety Training
This 5 1/2 hour course provides coaches with the basic First Aid/CPR/AED skills and knowledge needed to care for athletic injuries. This class is approved by the Ohio Department of Education to meet the requirements of today's coaches. It is being offered in collaboration with Kolczun & Kolczun Sports Medicine. Cost: $40.00.
