School Presentations
The American Red Cross has long been recognized as a provider of CPR and First Aid training for adults. However, many people are unaware that programs are available to teach first aid and health and safety to children as young as six which are easily adapted to the school curriculum.
'Til Help Arrives
'Til Help Arrives is an one-hour program that is offered to schools and community groups free of charge. This program reflects the mission of the American Red Cross by helping people "to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies". In this program, the participants learn to identify the signs of a medical emergency and how to deal with them until more-experienced help arrives. Some of the emergencies include breathing difficulties, choking, shock, bleeding, and burns. This program can be modified to reflect the maturity and needs of the participants.
