"Ready to
Respond" training set to recruit Red Cross volunteers
Having volunteers “at the ready” when disaster strikes is crucial to any disaster response. The American Red Cross relies heavily on trained volunteers to provide its humanitarian services to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters. To ensure volunteers are ready when disaster strikes, the Red Cross provides free disaster training. A “call to action” is scheduled across a nine county region with the hope of recruiting hundreds of new Red Cross volunteers.
In a pro-active move to recruit new volunteers, Red Cross chapters are joining forces to recruit and train volunteers through a
“Ready to Respond” program.
