Calling All Volunteers!
We always need volunteer instructors. If
you have the ability we will train you to be a CPR/First Aid instructor
for free! Contact us for more information. |
Tips to be a better instructor:
-
Teach often. If you
only teach once or twice a year it is hard to be an effective
instructor. Your local Red Cross has many opportunities for you to
teach outside of your normal routine.
-
Tailor to your class.
Meet them at their level. Make training sessions more relevant to
the situations they would deal with.
-
Dress professionally.
You are only as good as your students see you to be. The old adage
"The clothes don't make the man (or woman)" is not true. Dress
unprofessionally and a student may only have a bad memory, and that
of you!!
-
Know your material!
Even the most complicated questions can be answered easily: Just
remember - Check - Call - Care and ABC. That is all you need to
know to respond effectively, no matter what the situation.
-
Call our professional
staff for more information at (864) 583 - 8000. We will be more
than happy to answer any questions you may have.
