Get Prepared!

Build a kit                                    It is very possible that you will need to rely on yourself and your own supplies for a period of time after a disaster.  In a lightweight and mobile container, pack food, water and basic supplies for each member of your family.  We suggest storing one kit at home and another smaller kit in each vehicle you own.

Get trained                                  First responders may become overwhelmed and may not be available for you and your family should you need them.  Make sure that you have been trained in CPR and First Aid so that you are able to save a life if you need to.

Make a plan                                 It is vital that you have a plan in place of how to communicate and meet with your family and loved ones during and after a disaster.  Come up with several meeting places and an out-of-state contact person that can relay messages for you.
