Annual United Way Campaign Dear Neighbor,
Tens of thousands of families will look back on 2001 as the year when disasters damaged or totally destroyed homes, communities and businesses. They will also remember it, thanks to you, as the time when people from all across America rallied to their aid. Whether it is the effect of a hurricane on a local community, or one local family made homeless by a fire, your generous gifts of time, money or blood to the Red Cross is their lifeline to recovery. The Red Cross is not a government agency, and depends on the generosity of people like you.
The York-Poquoson chapter of the American Red Cross is a certified member agency of the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula, and as such, the United Way and the Red Cross work in partnership to provide Red Cross services. Because we rely on volunteers, the Red Cross uses 92 cents of every donated dollar to provide direct services to those in need. You can be confident that your gifts are going to an organization that is one of the best-managed and most efficient charities in the United States.
You can designate how your United Way contribution will be used. The code number for designations to the York-Poquoson Red Cross chapter is 7006. On behalf of all those your generosity goes to help, we thank you.
